About HEWIS

Our story

From one room with five pupils to over 200 learners today: the faith, the people and the purpose behind Heaven Waves International School.

Our Story

Humble beginnings, divine growth

On 17 May 2021, Heaven Waves International School opened its doors in a single room of an uncompleted residential building. Just five pupils sat in that room. By the end of the term there were fifteen.

Today, by God's grace, HEWIS serves over 200 learners from Agona East and surrounding rural communities — children who would otherwise have little or no access to quality education.

For years classes were held in makeshift spaces shared with residents — no office, no library, no proper kitchen. Through the support of our local church, parents and community, we have now moved into a purpose-built 15-unit classroom block with a modern dining hall.

"HEWIS is more than a school. It is a mission field, a hope factory, a testimony of what faith can build from nothing."

Our Leadership

The people behind HEWIS

Heaven Waves International School is led by a dedicated head teacher and a founding team whose vision started this mission. Working alongside them is a staff of trained teachers, support workers and community volunteers who show up every day so that every child is known and cared for.

Our leaders bring real teaching experience and a deep sense of calling. They look after the school's spiritual life, its academic standards and the daily welfare of every child in our care.
