Our Story

Humble beginnings, divine growth

On 17 May 2021, Heaven Waves International School opened its doors in a single room of an uncompleted residential building. Just five pupils sat in that room. By the end of the term there were fifteen.

Today, by God's grace, HEWIS serves over 200 learners from Agona East and surrounding rural communities. Most would otherwise have little or no access to school.

For years classes were held in makeshift spaces shared with residents: no office, no library, no proper kitchen. Through the support of our local church, parents and community, we have now moved into a purpose-built 15-unit classroom block with a modern dining hall.

We've grown, and so have the needs

We charge as little as GHS 5 a day so no child is turned away, and many families still struggle to pay. We rely on God's provision and the goodwill of partners who share our burden. Here is where support goes directly:

A reading room and digital skills for the future.
